Music Biography

Thomas began playing the piano at the age of 17. In an orthodox environment Thomas shone beyond his capabilities and was awarded his ATCL diploma just 18 months after he started playing the piano, which achieved him local success that led on to being taught by Harold Taylor, a former student of french pianist Alfred Cortot.

After three years studying with Harold Taylor, Thomas’s eyes were opened to a different world, where he became a competent and mature pianist. He developed his talent further to manifest himself into a position where he was offered a place on the BMus (Hon) course at the Birmingham Conservatoire under the instruction of John Thwaites, head of keyboard studies at the institute.

In Thomas’s latter years he has been influenced by many other composers and performers, which has helped him to develop his skills so that he has been able to perform in such events; as the Debussy Festival, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the composers birth, the Delius and Ireland Festival – A celebration of their complete works, and not forgetting the various master classes with which Thomas performed to the likes of Steven Osborne and William Fong. Thomas has just released his debut album 'Chopin Waltzes' (which can be

purchased via the store page).
